Our client, a leading medical device manufacturer, has instructed us to search for a Procurement Engineer. The chosen candidate will be responsible for leading and managing its Site Productivity Programme. This role will report to the Head of Procurement.

Duties:

• To both lead and advance the Site Productivity Programme, providing Procurement cost reduction initiatives in order to achieve business targets.
• Maintain material cost reductions by participating in cost negotiations with suppliers.
• To provide progress reports and to ensure the Site Productivity processes are maintained in compliance with the Corporate requirements and standards.
• Liaise with the Commodity Management to implement any supplier changes in the supply base to both improve performance and reduce costs.
• To maintain new supplier evaluations and approvals so that business needs are met.
• To promote their Cost Value Engineering model with their bigger suppliers.
• To ensure strong preparation for negotiations while working closely with Commodity Management.
• Identify any risk situations and work alongside Strategic Procurement in order to develop risk mitigation strategies.
• Provide overall strategic and operational performance of their supply base by leading various projects.

Skills \ Education:

• BA degree in Engineering or related Science.
• 3-5+ years’ experience within a Procurement function.
• Strong commodity experience-suppliers, materials, technology, and manufacturing processes.
• Excellent team player, with experience managing stakeholders’ relationships.
• Strong problem solving skills, good ability to analyse data for decision making.
• Good ability to build strong business relationships with supplies.
• Excellent oral communications, writing skills and presentation skills.
