Payroll and Accounts Assistant – North Dublin

Link Personnel is now hiring a Payroll and Accounts Assistant for our client,, a leading company in the construction sector based in North Dublin. This role plays a vital part in supporting the financial operations within a busy construction environment. Key responsibilities will include managing monthly payroll processes, processing supplier invoices, and supporting subcontractor account administration. The ideal candidate will demonstrate discretion, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.

Salary:  to €50k

Benefits: Pension, Free Parking, Career Progression, Hybrid Working, Wellbeing Programme, Early finish Friday.

Overall Package:  to €60k

Key Responsibilities:

Payroll Duties:

  • Prepare, input, and process monthly payroll using accounting software.

  • Accurately calculate employee salaries, deductions, and statutory payments.

  • Maintain up-to-date payroll records in compliance with Revenue requirements.

  • Respond to employee payroll queries, including payslip and tax-related inquiries.

  • Prepare and file payroll returns (e.g. PAYE Modernisation submissions via ROS).

  • Allocate staff costs correctly across various construction projects.

Accounts Payable & Invoice Processing:

  • Verify and process supplier and subcontractor invoices.

  • Match invoices to purchase orders, delivery notes, and job/project codes.

  • Reconcile statements and resolve discrepancies with suppliers and subcontractors.

  • Maintain accurate transaction records in the accounting system.

General Finance Support:

  • Assist with bank reconciliations and petty cash control.

  • Contribute to month-end and year-end financial processes.

  • Manage the organisation and filing of financial records.

  • Liaise with internal teams and external suppliers as required.

Candidate Requirements:

  • At least 2 years’ experience in a similar finance role.

  • Proficient in Irish payroll systems and familiar with Revenue compliance processes.

  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills and a high level of accuracy.

  • Excellent organisational, interpersonal, and communication abilities.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage confidential data with discretion.
