VAT & Duty Clerk-12 Month FTC

Our Client, a Global leader in the Logistics Industry has instructed us to recruit a VAT Clerk to join their busy team. This is a 12-month contract role and would be reporting to the OTC and Billing Manager. Some knowledge of Import VAT/Customs would be a plus.

Salary: DOE

Duties:

  • To liaise with import and customer service on any cash payment issues for VAT and Duty payments.
  • To ensure the follow up of any issues as well as customer VAT billing query handling.
  • To liaise with staff on any VAT shipment processing.
  • To ensure that enough controls are in place for VAT and duty cash follow up.
  • To validate daily VAT billing files.
  • Monthly VAT reporting.
  • Providing the necessary information reports to SSC and UK and link with Customer Service, bookings etc.
  • To refer any complex and unusual problems to supervisor.

Experience:

  • 1-2 years’ experience within a payment collection role.
  • Knowledge of Import VAT and Duty tariffs is an advantage.
  • Credit Control experience is a plus.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong MS skills, particularly excel.
  • Ability to work with deadlines and very organised.
  • Previous finance admin experience is a plus.
