Project Manager – Pharma

Our Client based in North County Dublin is a Specialist Pharmaceutical Business and currently have a vacancy for a Project Manager.

Salary :  to €55K depending on experience

The Role:

  • The Project/ Contracts Manager is responsible for the successful delivery of multiple projects through leadership, people/supply chain management, commercial and contract management throughout the project life cycle.
  • The Project/ Contracts Manager will work with Commercial, Technical and Finance teams to pro-actively manage and drive concurrent client projects from the point of conversion through to completion.
  • To ensure that the objectives of the project are achieved within the specified time and budgetary constraints.
  • To build synergy with all departments & maintain sufficient flow of information.
  • To identify and mitigate risk, minimise uncertainty, and overcome obstacles that will impact on project delivery and/or budget.

Principal Responsibilities:

  • Activity Planning / Sequencing – Identify the critical path of activities within the phases of a project to ensure that all milestones as outlined in the Statement of Project Agreement are met.
  • Resource Planning – Through collaboration with the Technical team, define what competency levels and skill sets are required and assign tasks to resources based on competency.
  • Resource Scheduling – Identify when key resources need to be available for project delivery and creating a schedule to align with project milestones.
  • Managing Risks / Issues – Identify and manage obstacles/risks that may derail the delivery of the project and minimise uncertainty. (Trouble Shooting).
  • Strategic Influence – Detection of unstated assumptions by clients – out of scope (OOS) activities. Liaising with Commercial Director around OOS to seek clarity around the requirement for additional budget or a potential commercial opportunity.
  • Monitoring – Weekly project progress reporting to relevant stakeholders in both project delivery and budget over the lifecycle of the project.
  • Project Management – Constant communication with the team and with the client. Establish yourself as a central liaise between the tech team and the client to allow full oversight on the project.

The Candidate: 

  • Strong communication (written & verbal) and interpersonal skills are essential.
  • Proficient in using Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.
  • Health professional/knowledge of pharmaceutical sector an advantage.
  • Strong attention to detail and experience working with sales and customer data.
  • Ability to work both independently and as a team player.
  • Organised with attention to detail. Able to prioritise work. Strong business acumen.
  • Process orientated with ability to manage a team to ensure that project deadlines are met and in budget.
  • Fluent English Speaker.
  • Adaptability/Flexibility, Ability to work in an industry with constant, unpredictable change and complexity.
  • Ability to develop and maintain an effective network of contacts.
  • Demonstrative experience in meeting or exceeding sales targets.
  • Problem Solving Skills – Ability to make decisions under pressure and be able to use initiative to achieve best outcome for the project.
  • 8+ years’ experience in a similar role.
  • Experience with CRM/PM tools an advantage.
  • Education – Degree level in a relevant area, Engineering, Project Management, Science/Healthcare or other relevant area.
