Procurement Lead – Contract €55k

Our client, a large medical device manufacturer, based in North Dublin requires a procurement professional for a contract starting in the next number of weeks. This role requires strong project management experience, an ability to deal with suppliers across the world, and an ability to highlight and solve issues which lead to delays and cost overruns. This role would be ideally suited to someone with experience in a multinational environment in the Medical Device, Electronics or Aviation sector. The role will interact with all parts of the business.


Salary: to €60k

Candidate Requirements:

  • Strong ability with Excel – ability to generate analysis, reports and metrics
  • Ability to deal with a large number of data sets
  • Organisational ability.
  • Process awareness
  • Supplier/Technology awareness – sufficient technical understanding of parts to understand ‘the story’ behind various parts and suppliers
  • Ability to interact with suppliers
  • Influencing without authority – ability to hold team to an objective and resolve conflicts
  • Ownership and coordination ability to achieve a results – driven type individual who can problem solve across functions
  • Project management skills – planning, scheduling, organising


  • Chair daily reviews with Cross Functional Teams to cover;New Part Release Updates, Team Centre and/or SAP
  • RfQ Process
    • New parts assignment to Supplier(s) for RfQ
    • Prototype/Quick-turn supplier solution where needed – Expedite with NPP and Procurement/SCM Engineers with Fast turn accelerated options based off the Supplier Matrix.
    • RfQ Issues resolution – allocation of new, status review of open and overdue issues – including both commercial and technical issues.  Tracking with the accountable Proc/SC&M responsible for resolution.
    • RfQ status checks, with a focus on overdue
    • RfQ supplier selection process.
    • Support Supplier escalations with the appropriate Buyer or SC&M Engineer/SQM Engineer
  • MMD Status
    • ID parts ready for MMD setup
    • Work with IT to get MMD files loaded/Quadrated into SAP – incl. PIR & QIR – Designated QA representatives
    • Monitor progress of MMD setup to get to PO Ready status ASAP
  • PO Status
    • Signal parts ‘ready for PO placement’
    • Track PO placement rate
    • Publish status report – PO placed, PO Confirmed, PO Overdue or late to Required Date
  • Maintain Actions Register
  • Metrics Reporting
    • Publish a suite of metrics across process to indicate progress (release to stock), issues and completion rates
    • Escalate overdue items/issues
  • Business Awards
    • Ensure that records are kept of RfQ decisions and Business Awards (Decision matrix)
    • Keep ‘Rolling Register’ of part awards and business values to match supplier capacity
    • Ensure that TCoO and Supplier Decision Tool are used where required

This role will be 9 months in duration.
