Link Personnel have been given instruction from our client, an International Freight Forwarder, re a vacancy for a Import/Export Clerk.

6 month Maternity leave cover

The Role: 

Export Duties:

  • Take in bookings from clients.
  • Ensure rates/costs are accurate at time of booking and place booking with the shipping carrier.
  • To organise transport on collection of all sea freight shipments as needed.
  • Provide a booking confirmation to the customer to confirm all ETD/ETA details on the booking.
  • Finalise any costs and invoicing with the billing team.
  • Provide assistance with any accounts queries in a timely manner by email or phone.
  • Answer all customer queries within a timely manner.

Import Duties:

  • Maintain documents from client or third-party agents for import pre-alerts and monitor arrival into Dublin.
  • Calculate any taxes and ensure they are sent to the client for payment to be made in advance of clearance for duty/VAT costs upon arrival.
  • Book haulier to pick up and deliver finalise POD.
  • Create all quotations and convert to shipment on shipments for each import LCL/FCL consignment.
  • Answer all customer queries within a timely manner.

The Candidate: 

  • 3-5years+ experience in sea freight and imports/exports
  • Strong Excel Skills
  • Experience in Customs Clearance is a plus
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
  • Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team
  • Energetic & Self Motivated
  • Problem Solver
  • Team Player with a can-do attitude
  • Flexible and adaptable
