Our Client is a Leading Professional Services Firm located in a convenient location in Dublin 2.  They currently have a Vacancy for HR Generalist.  Reporting to the HR Director this is a busy and varied role with great autonomy.  The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the HR Strategy by providing the full range of HR services that will enable the business/Firm to achieve its objectives – resourcing, induction, performance and talent management, coaching, compensation and benefit processes, employee engagement, employee relations.

Salary:  to €65K

Benefits: Pension, Healthcare, Life Assurance, 24 Days AL.  35 Hour Week

The Role: 

  • Recruitment – Proactively manage the recruitment process for Trainees, Interns and Business Support staff. Ensure that all open positions are filled as soon as possible and in a cost effective manner.
  • Induction/Onboarding – Manage onboarding process with all necessary internal departments and effectively communicate with the new staff member in advance of joining. Manage the Induction process, ensuring that all new employees attend same and that they are fully briefed on the Firm’s policies and procedures.
  • HR Policies and Procedures – Ensure all HR policies and procedures are consistently implemented across the Firm. Provide advice to Partners/Managers and staff as required in relation to same. Support Head of HR to develop new policies and procedures as required. Ensure that current policies and procedures and the Staff Handbook are updated in line with changes in legislation & Firm business decisions.
  • Learning & Development – Proactively support the assessment of training needs on a Firm-wide basis, including CPD requirements for Solicitors. Assist in co-ordinating the Firm’s internal CPD Programme and other training programmes as required.
    Identify appropriate training courses to meet these needs, both internally and externally, and organise same.
  • Employee Relations – Coach and advise Partners and Managers as appropriate to proactively manage employee relations issues as they arise, liaising with the Head of HR as necessary, to ensure issues are resolved in a satisfactory and timely manner.
  • Payroll – Responsible for all inputs to payroll, ensuring a high level of accuracy.
  • HR Database – Proactively manage the HR database (TMS), ensuring that information is accurate and kept up-to-date at all times, particularly in relation to personal details, salary records, training records, sickness, annual leave and other categories of leave.
    Manage the reporting facility in a proactive and informative manner, providing monthly status reports as requested by Partners/Managers.
  • Performance Management
    Support the implementation of the performance management process, ensuring reviews are completed on time. Provide support and advice to reviewing Partners/Managers as required.
  • Compensation & Benefit Programmes – Manage the employee benefits programmes eg. Pension, Permanent Health Insurance & Life Assurance, Health Insurance, Wellness Programme, Education Sponsorship Scheme, Travel Scheme, Bike to Work and other schemes as approved by the Firm.
  • Trainees – Act as main point of contact for all Trainee queries; provide support in relation to all Trainee registration with the Law Society, to include managing the Indenture process.
  • Trainee Solicitor & Summer Intern Programmes.
  • Manage all aspects of the Firm’s Trainee Solicitor & Summer Intern Programmes – to include all recruitment activities, raise the Firm’s brand through attending College Recruitment Fairs and Firm evening events; Trainee rotations; interface with Law Society.
  • Liaison with Law Society: Act as main point of contact with the Law Society in relation to all queries regarding all Fees Earners, Trainees, NQs, CPD requirements, Practising Certs, and deal with all ad hoc queries that present.
  • Employment Legislation and Best Practice.
  • Stay abreast of developments in legislation and best HR practices and advise Partners/Managers accordingly. This will involve attending various seminars; liaising with our Head of HR and our in-house employment law department, other HR professionals and reading relevant publications.
  • Other Support other ad hoc tasks and projects as required.

The Candidate: 

  •  Degree in HR or relevant discipline and CIPD certification.
  • Minimum of 3 years relevant human resource experience within a professional services or corporate environment.
  • Competency in all general HR practice areas – recruitment; training; performance management; communications; compensation and benefits; employment legislation; best HR practice.
  • Ability to manage their areas of responsibility in a proactive and professional manner.
  • Motivated to ensure that the HR function is highly regarded across the Firm – Brand Ambassador for HR.
  • Ability to work autonomously, using their initiative.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills, with an ability to manage a wide range of projects and activities simultaneously.
  • Excellent communications and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong numerical and computing skills with proficiency in MS Office.
  • Strong negotiating and influencing skills.
  • Demonstrable track record in delivering results against their areas of responsibility.
  • Ability to make informed recommendations to the Head of HR in relation to resolving HR related issues and activities.
  • Demonstrate a passion/hunger for HR, not just the mechanics of human resources.
