Logistics Manager – North Dublin

Our client, a large pharmaceutical company based in North Dublin, is now hiring a Logistics Manager. The role will manage both inbound and outbound logistics, including Dispatch and Goods Inwards.

Salary: up to €80k

The Role:

  • Maintain service level costs for inbound and outbound freight.
  • Manage the goods inwards, stores, dispatch, line feed and warehousing teams (through team leaders).
  • Ensure that safe working practices are in place and adhered to; enforce all site safety policies in your areas of responsibility.
  • Manage the inventory control team to cycle count all material on site.
  • Maintain and build on inventory accuracy, driving a culture of control and inventory record discipline.
  • Ensure compliance to customs’ procedures and that the required Revenue reporting is timely with accurate classification of all materials.
  • Maintain a set of KPIs, conduct customer surveys and hold business reviews to track and improve effectiveness and efficiency and service provision of our 3PL partner(s) and carriers.
  •  Work collaboratively with all other departments to meet the overall site priorities and objectives.
  • Provide leadership, coaching and mentoring for your direct reports.

The Candidate: 

  • Business, or related primary degree. APICS or equivalent Transport & Logistics qualification is an advantage!
  • 5+ years of Logistics management experience in multi-national manufacturing.
  • Experience in leading operations teams in stores, shipping or production.  Ability to build an ownership culture, where the team are genuinely listened to and involved in achieving the goals.
  • Track history of driving continuous improvement and change that delivers tangible results with a people centric approach and style.
  • Experience in managing 3PL and freight spend in excess of €2M P.A. Formal Supplier Performance Management experience.
  • Proven negotiation and influencing skills.
  • A working knowledge and experience in the following: Manufacturing and Production Control Systems, Material Planning and Purchasing Systems, Global Contract Agreements & Global Logistics Programs.
  • Strong ability to utilise the capability of ERP systems to manipulate data to provide decision making information, track activity and track performance.
  • Customer Service focus, with a strong sense of urgency and responsiveness
  • Experience of working with SAP would be an advantage
