Hard Services Manager – North Dublin

Our client, a large multinational based in North Dublin is on the lookout for a Hard Services Manager.

Salary: to €80k

Key Responsibilities

  • Implementing best practice within the organisation.
  • Identification of potential operational risks and possible consequences.
  • Ensure compliance in all areas with client requirements and company requirements.
  • Tracking of SLA performance throughout the month.
  • Completion of scorecard and supporting documentation.
  • Participate in exchanges of good practices with other sites, including development of innovations.
  • Ensure services are completed to client satisfaction, complete follow up internally or with sub contractors where necessary in a timely, effective and efficient manner.   Where necessary review of contracts with external parties and SLA requirements.
  • Review scope of work to ensure all areas are met and where necessary develop action plans for close out of any gaps identified.
  • Arrange and supervise training of site personnel.
  • Manage safe work plans, emergency response plans and mitigation plans, including business continuity and critical supplier identification and mitigation.
  • Ensure compliance of all activities with laws, guidelines and relevant regulations and client procedures.
  • Represent company interests at all interfaces.
  • Develop and promote a professional, open and honest relationship with the client.
  • Report issues that may have a significant impact or consequence as per company procedure.
  • Ensure the company is honouring its contract in all areas with the client and highlight any potential gaps to the Operations Manager.
  • Involve Managers in discussions with the client where necessary to achieve suitable resolution.
  • Ensure all teams have the necessary skills, technical expertise and guidance to complete their roles, including completion of annual performance reviews and career development of personnel where necessary.
  • Guarantee at least a strict application of all regulatory and internal requirements in terms of QEHS according to the IPPC licence
  • Supervise and promote Continuous Improvement, including enhanced focus on self performance
  • Ensure to communicate in due time all relevant information to the Operations Manager
  • Completion of monthly metrics meeting for site, along with updated presentation
  • Participate actively as a member of the site management team
  • Act as a member of the central Reliability Engineering team

O & M

  • Supervise Operations, covering all sub-contractor work and may from time to time extend to soft, pharma and QEHS services, a deal of flexibility is required in the role
  • Manage O&M Technicians and Engineers: ensure staff have the necessary skills, training to carry out the work; provide technical expertise and guidance to technicians.
  • Role holder also has MRO stores responsibility and CMMS Admin Responsibility with relevant teams reporting into this function.
  • Supervise execution of PM plan and log-in into the CMMS
  • Supervise full application of relevant SOPs, both company and Client procedures
  • Manage Safety Work plan.
  • Completion of all training, CAPA’s, Investigations etc assigned on time.
  • Implement actions for continuous safety improvement
  • Communicate outcomes of undergoing actions to the client.
  • To ensure that the Client is provided with maintenance to a defined level, that is delivered by a competent team in a cost effective manner and is compliant with contractual requirements.
  • Management of services budget to ensure the services under their control are delivered within budgets set at the outset.
  • Ensuring plan in place for all shutdown activities, including ad hoc shutdowns during the year and shutdowns at Christmas time.

Sub Contractor Management

  • Responsible for Contractor Management, adherence to client permit procedures, setting contractor KPI’s/SLA’s and completion of monthly/quarterly/annually evaluations

 QEHS and compliance expectations

Always adhere to all country and site safety protocols. Ensure safe work practices at all times, risk assess work tasks when required to diminish unsafe situations. Liaise with site safety officers and asked for advice when required. Always ensure colleagues and own safety at all times.  When lifting or working at heights follow all site safety procedures.  Propose actions for continuous safety improvement.

It is the responsibility of the position to strictly adhere to procedures and any issues identified are raised immediately.

  • Degree (Mechanical, Electrical or Chemical) preferred but not essential
  • Management experience
  • Experience with O&M acquired in pharmaceutical, electronics or chemical industry
  • Experience in similar function in an international context.
  • Experience in Maintenance of Installations for Energy Production and Utilities (steam, hot water, cooling system, electricity, compressed air, etc), experience of (water cycle and utilities, waste management, multi-technical maintenance, maintenance of buildings, stores management, reception and shipping etc), Pharma (Lab Services) and Soft services teams (facility management, Catering Services, Janitorial etc. desirable.
  • Experience in Project Management (for maintenance and Investments).
  • Budget responsibility.
  • Strong knowledge of production equipment and Site utilities, certifications and control and safety procedures.
