Business Development Manager – Dublin €75k

Our client, an International Law Firm based in Dublin 2, is now hiring a Business Development Manger.The successful candidate will have responsibility for the formation and implementation of strategic business development plans for the team in Dublin and across the Republic of Ireland in order to generate new business and develop profitable client relationships and profile in the region.

Salary: €75k

Main duties and responsibilities:

  • Provide day to day support to the Dublin office Partner team on the wide range of BD initiatives they undertake. Ensuring effective use of all communication channels, including PR, Out-Law, client e-newsletter, sponsorship opportunities, conferences, research and industry networks.
  • Support the implementation of the office’s business development plans in line with the firm’s and Sector’s business strategy/objectives focusing in particular on the development of reputation and key relationships.
  • Support the generation of new revenue through: providing a strategic advisory and ‘hands on’ role in coordinating and shaping proposals and credential statements bids, including bid/no bid decisions, defining key propositions/messages and taking a long term view on bids and the impact on client relationships.
  • Supporting and advising on designated “must win” global pursuits and opportunities.
  • Support the firm’s client relationship management programme and activities, including: contributing to client development programmes for key Sectors and ensuring relationship plans, as they apply to Ireland, are delivered.
  • Encouraging Relationship Partners in their pursuit, development and maintenance of key clients.
  • Develop Thought Leadership, through:  liaising with relevant Global Sector BDM’s to develop themes, strategy and content for office thought leadership campaigns.
  • Support effective financial management, by:  leading on the allocation, formulation and management of the BD budget and ensuring value for money and effective use.
  • Handling the BD budget and expenses.
  • Provide strategic guidance in legal directory submissions.
  • Liaise with outside agencies.
  • Promote application and benefits of CRM software.
Person Specification

  • Degree educated.
  • Relevant marketing qualification.
Relevant Experience:

  • Experience of undertaking a similar role in a partnership environment.
  • Experience of setting and delivering a strategy in a partnership environment.
  • Preferential to have worked in a Professional Services or Law Firm.
